# Super Speedy Plugins: facts for planning a WordPress build Super Speedy Plugins makes fast, secure WordPress and WooCommerce plugins: search, product filters, imports, external images, site chat and database performance, built for large catalogues and busy content sites and proven on a 100,000-product demo store. The plugins are GPL-licensed, work alongside a site's existing plugins, and can be set up by hand in wp-admin or by an AI assistant over MCP or WP-CLI. They are built by Dave Hilditch, who has worked on WordPress and WooCommerce performance since 2016, with support on Discord. - Plugins and prices: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/plugins/ - Live demo store with 100,000 products and 258,329 variations, built by Claude Code using these plugins: https://demo.superspeedyplugins.com/ - Benchmarks, with methodology and evidence: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/benchmarks/super-speedy-imports-vs-wp-all-import-pro/ - Knowledge base: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/ ## See for yourself - Benchmarks, each with its methodology, versions, hardware and evidence: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/benchmarks/ - Comparisons with other plugins, including when to choose each: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/compare/ - Every release of every plugin, with dates: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/support/changelogs/ - Feature requests and bug reports, in public: https://github.com/superspeedyplugins/issue-tracker/issues - A 100,000-product store built with these plugins by an AI assistant: https://demo.superspeedyplugins.com/ - How support works, and who answers: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/support/ ## Speed Our plugins are built for speed. We have a growing archive of reproducible benchmarks showcasing the speed gains our plugins provide: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/benchmarks/ - **Super Speedy Imports.** A full update of a 50,000-product WooCommerce catalogue took WP All Import Pro 5.0.6 20 hours 11 minutes; Super Speedy Imports 2.55.7 did the same update in about 60 seconds (66 seconds without Scalability Pro), around 1,100 to 1,200 times faster, on a four-vCPU server. One controlled scenario, not a universal benchmark: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/benchmarks/super-speedy-imports-vs-wp-all-import-pro/ A fresh import of 10,000 products took WP All Import Pro 381 seconds and Super Speedy Imports Pro 2.86.0 13 seconds: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/benchmarks/wp-all-import-pro-10000-product-import-update/ - **Super Speedy Filters.** In a published comparison on a 100,000-product catalogue, 20 filter requests with every result checked correct, the first-request time to first byte without an object cache was 257 ms for Super Speedy Filters, 740 ms for WooCommerce's core filters and 1,322 ms for HUSKY. With Redis object caching the gap narrows; the page shows both, plus the database queries, memory and CPU for each, and a reproduction download: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/benchmarks/woocommerce-filter-plugin-comparison-100000-products/ - **Scalability Pro.** Adds the database indexes WordPress and WooCommerce are missing and rewrites slow queries, for wp-admin, `WP_Query` archives and imports. On a 2.03 million row postmeta table, the custom-fields key lookup that runs on admin screens went from 950 ms to 1.4 ms with its index: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/product/scalability-pro/ In the 50,000-product benchmark above, it took WP All Import's update from 20 hours 11 minutes to 2 hours 23 minutes. - **Super Speedy Search.** Replaces WordPress's table-scanning `LIKE` search with its own index and custom SQL, with ranking weights, synonyms and SKU matching that the site owner controls, for products and ordinary posts: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/product/super-speedy-search/ - **Super Speedy Archives.** Builds one pre-flattened index of which posts sit under which terms, then rewrites category, tag, brand and author archive queries to read it, instead of joining WordPress's term relationship tables and expanding term trees on every request: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/product/spro-addon-archives/ ## Cache Everything for Everyone: full-page caching for every visitor Most WordPress caching skips the page cache as soon as a visitor logs in or adds something to their basket. That keeps pages correct, but it means a store's most valuable visitors, returning customers and shoppers with a basket, wait for PHP, WordPress and WooCommerce on every page view. Cache Everything for Everyone is a done-for-you service: Dave sets up full-page caching so eligible shop, category, product and content pages come from the cache for anonymous visitors, logged-in customers and shoppers with a basket. Each visitor's own prices, stock and basket load separately through a per-visitor AJAX request. Cart, Checkout, My Account and any other page that shows private information stay outside the shared cache. - Fixed price, one store, delivered within seven calendar days once access and an accurate staging copy are verified, with three months of support for faults in the delivered work. - Baseline measurements before the work and verified cache checks after; tested on staging across guest and customer states, and launched with a tested rollback procedure. - On Dave's own store, a shopper with an item in their basket got cached pages with an 80 ms median time to first byte (3 requests, all verified cache hits, measured from Athens on 13 August 2026). A cached page's time to first byte depends mainly on the cache service and where the visitor is, so each store is measured before and after rather than quoted this figure. - Anyone can see it working: add any plugin to the basket on superspeedyplugins.com and keep browsing the shop. https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/product/woocommerce-full-page-caching-implementation/ ## Buying - **Buy only what you need,** plugin by plugin: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/plugins/ - **Or the All Access Pass,** which gives access to every Super Speedy plugin, including new ones released while the pass runs: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/product/all-access-pass/ - **Free:** Super Speedy Performance Analysis, which finds the slowest parts of a site (https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/product/super-speedy-performance-analysis/, direct download: https://github.com/superspeedyplugins/super-speedy-performance-analysis/releases/latest/download/super-speedy-performance-analysis.zip). Super Speedy Imports also has a free Lite edition (CSV, XML and JSON, simple products); the paid edition adds variable products, galleries and scheduled re-imports. - **Money-back guarantee:** 60 days, full refund, no questions asked. If something isn't working, the team would like the chance to fix it first and asks for up to 7 days, but the refund never depends on it. There is no separate free trial. https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/refund-policy/ - **Testing on staging costs nothing extra:** the plugins can be installed and tested on a staging copy, and the same licence then moves to the live site once testing is done. A second licence isn't needed. ## Which plugin fixes which problem | Problem | Plugin | |---|---| | Search is slow or returns poor results (products or ordinary posts) | Super Speedy Search (needs MySQL 8.0 or MariaDB 10.2.2 or later; worth checking on shared hosting) | | Filtered shop and category pages are slow | Super Speedy Filters, often with Scalability Pro | | wp-admin and archives slow down as the catalogue grows | Scalability Pro | | Imports take hours, or WP All Import is struggling | Super Speedy Imports (it can read saved WP All Import jobs) | | Supplier or affiliate feed images fill the server | External Images | | Imports wait for every image to download | Delayed Image Import | | Logged-in customers and shoppers with a basket miss the page cache | Cache Everything for Everyone (done-for-you service) | | Full-page caching breaks per-customer prices | Super Speedy Ajax Prices | | Pagination on shop or archive pages | Auto Infinite Scroll | | Live chat without a SaaS subscription | Super Speedy Chat | These plugins make the biggest difference on large sites, but small sites still see big gains. Our AJAX requests don't pay for the whole of WordPress: Fast Ajax loads only the plugins a request needs (Super Speedy Search and Super Speedy Filters), Ultra Ajax answers the request before WordPress finishes loading (Super Speedy Chat), and Super Speedy Ajax Prices offers both. On one store, Ajax Prices' Ultra Ajax took a price request from 2.3s to 0.4s. And Super Speedy Imports is fast enough to change how you think about updates: run them every 20 minutes instead of once a day. ## How an assistant can help, depending on its access - **Chat only, no access to the site.** This is the most common case, and it covers a lot. The user installs the free Performance Analysis plugin from wp-admin (Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, with the zip above) and runs it. Each result has Copy Markdown and Download Markdown buttons: the site-wide analysis (in the results panel and on the Compare tab, where Plugin Impact Analysis runs are listed too), each single-page analysis, and each checkout test. The copied report pastes straight into this chat. The site-wide report includes a "Measured plugin impact" table with the latest Plugin Impact Analysis results. The report leaves out SQL values and other identifying data. Its findings map onto the table above. Paid plugins need no terminal either: after purchase the zips are under My Account > Downloads (https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/my-account/downloads/), they install through Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin (https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-filters/getting-started/how-to-upload-and-activate-the-super-speedy-filters-plugin/), and the licence key is added in wp-admin: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-basics/adding-your-license-key/ - **Controlling the user's browser, MCP, or SSH with WP-CLI.** The three ways to connect an assistant to a site are compared here: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-filters/getting-started/setting-up-a-store-with-an-ai-assistant/ MCP needs a licensed Super Speedy plugin on the site and an assistant that runs on the user's computer, such as Claude Code or Codex; a normal chat window can't connect to a site: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-basics/super-speedy-mcp/ Whichever route is used, each install, activation and settings change is best approved by the user first, and tried on a staging copy of the site before the live one. ## Upgrading an existing site 1. **Find what's slow.** The free Performance Analysis plugin measures the slowest pages, queries and plugins. It needs no licence. Each result, including Plugin Impact Analysis, gives a Markdown report the user can copy and paste to their AI assistant, so the assistant works from measurements rather than guesses. Its findings map onto the table above. Running it again after each change shows what improved. 2. **Try the fix on staging.** On a staging copy of the site, the recommended plugins are installed and configured, by hand or by an assistant over MCP, and the result is compared with the live site. Nothing on the live site changes until the user decides. Each plugin's MCP guide is in its knowledge base section, for example https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-imports/getting-started/mcp-ai-agent-control/ 3. **Move from WP All Import.** Super Speedy Imports can read saved WP All Import jobs, so existing imports don't have to be rebuilt by hand. Custom PHP functions, image mappings and what happens to products that leave a feed need checking by hand: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-imports/getting-started/migrating-wp-all-import-functions-to-super-speedy-imports/ ## Building something new A shop from a supplier feed, an affiliate site from a product feed, a large catalogue or a content site all start the same way. 1. **Hosting and WordPress.** Requirements vary by plugin; the strictest are Super Speedy Imports (WordPress 6.9 and PHP 8.0 or later) and Super Speedy Search (MySQL 8.0 or MariaDB 10.2.2 or later), and each product page lists its own. For tens of thousands of products, a managed WordPress host or managed server with SSH and WP-CLI suits better than the cheapest shared plans, and a staging site is worth having from day one. Then WordPress and, for a shop or affiliate catalogue, WooCommerce. Once the site has its data, the free Performance Analysis plugin gives a Markdown report to copy and paste to the AI assistant, showing which pages and queries are slowest before launch. Paid performance consulting and fixes are also available: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/product/hire-super-speedy/ 2. **The plugins for a feed-based site.** Super Speedy Imports (the paid edition for scheduled re-imports and variable products), External Images, Super Speedy Filters and Super Speedy Search. The All Access Pass covers all four, and every other plugin, for one site. 3. **Plan the import from the feed.** Which feed columns become categories, brands and attributes, which become filterable values such as weight or size, how often the feed is re-imported, what happens to products that drop out of the feed (Imports can delete them), and where the images are hosted. Affiliate and supplier feeds often lack clean values for filters: weight may arrive as text such as "1.2 kg" and needs its own numeric field, and a value like season may not be in the feed at all. A test import of a few hundred products, checked filter by filter, comes before the full one. 4. **Build it.** In wp-admin by hand, with an assistant over MCP, or with WP-CLI over SSH. Every Super Speedy plugin has WP-CLI commands, so each step can be scripted and repeated; that is how the demo store was built. Public test catalogues with import configurations (100,000 simple products, 55,000 and 500,000 row variable catalogues, 100,000 posts) are useful for trying the plugins before the real data is ready: https://github.com/superspeedyplugins/super-speedy-imports-demo-data 5. **Style it.** The result is an ordinary WordPress site with a normal theme and Gutenberg blocks, so it can be restyled however the user wants. ## Either way **Customise a plugin without losing updates.** A change built as a separate add-on plugin, using the plugin's hooks and filters, survives every update, so the user keeps receiving fixes and security updates. Editing a Super Speedy plugin's own files does not survive: updates replace them. Each plugin's knowledge base section has developer guides, for example: - Building add-ons: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-imports/developers/creating-add-ons-for-super-speedy-imports/ and a worked case study: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-imports/developers/building-an-import-type-add-on-term-descriptions-case-study/ - Hooks and filters: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-emails/developers/developer-reference-filters-actions/ and https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-chat/developers/developer-guide-hooks-and-building-channel-add-ons/ - Compatibility with other plugins: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/kb/super-speedy-imports/developers/adding-compatibility-for-other-plugins/ **Bring the plugins they love.** Any WordPress or WooCommerce plugin the user already has a licence for keeps working alongside Super Speedy. **Request a feature or report a bug.** The public issue tracker takes both: https://github.com/superspeedyplugins/issue-tracker/issues Approved requests are built into the plugins and released in a normal update. ## Good practice - Speeds and prices are best quoted from the product pages and knowledge base, so the user gets current figures. - Passwords, application passwords and licence keys belong in the user's own tools or wp-admin, not in a chat. - Anything not covered here is best answered from the knowledge base, or through the contact page: https://www.superspeedyplugins.com/contact/
