Is there a maximum CSV size, or should I split large files?

The upload limit shown by WordPress comes from the host’s PHP configuration. Large files also need enough disk space, database capacity and time for the selected work. Check those constraints before splitting a file; splitting can affect matching and delete-missing behaviour.
Use the browser runner for the normal WordPress workflow. For server-managed files and jobs, WP-CLI provides an optional path without a browser tab.
