Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which WP INTENSE collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of this website (“Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by WP INTENSE.

Quick Summary

If you opt-in, we will track traffic behaviour & patterns using Google Analytics. We analyse this data to improve our website.
We also count visits ourselves, on our own servers, without any cookie and without storing your IP address. Individual visits are deleted after 90 days. See Our own website analytics below.
If you purchase from us, we will create an account so you can access your downloads and renew your licence. If you cancel your order, or it fails for some reason, your information is deleted within 7 days. We keep successful order records for as long as you hold an account or a licence with us, so that renewals and support keep working, and for 10 years from the sale to meet VAT and accounting law. You can ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep.
We never sell your details to anyone
We record IP addresses on our servers for 7 days for security and anti-DDOS measures, after which they are deleted using logrotate
We use SSL throughout
If you comment on our site, you will be given an option to remember your name and site URL. You can refuse.
If you chat to our support team, through forms, email or the chat on our site, we keep that history for as long as we need it to support you, including when you come back to us later about the same thing. There is no fixed period, and you can ask us to delete it. Chat conversations are relayed to a private Discord server and a private WhatsApp account so our team sees them quickly. If you email us, your message is forwarded to us using Zoho email and is then deleted from the mail server.
If you ask for a performance review from inside our Performance Analysis plugin, we receive only what you see in the preview and choose to send. We keep it to answer your request. See Performance review requests below.

Web browser cookies

Our Site uses cookies for functionality reasons and for anonymised Google Analytics tracking.

Our cookies include:

Google Analytics – anonymised traffic recording so we can see paths users tend to take through our site
Affiliate tracking – for the purposes of recognising which affiliate brought you to our site so we can reward them.
Comment forms – you can optionally choose to record a cookie when you leave a comment to save time next time you comment
Orders – if you add items to your basket, a cookie is used for that functionality

Our own analytics sets no cookie at all. If you allow the analytics category, it stores a single random identifier in your browser’s local storage instead, which is described under Our own website analytics below.

Cookies and similar technologies for data processing

To manage the cookies and similar technologies used on this site (tracking pixels, web beacons, browser storage) and your consent to them, we use the consent tool Pressidium Cookie Consent. Your choices are recorded in your browser and can be changed at any time from the cookie banner.

The legal basis for processing personal data in this context is Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the management of the cookies and similar technologies used and the related consents.

Providing this personal data is neither contractually required nor necessary to enter into a contract. You are not obliged to provide it. If you do not, we will not be able to record your consent choices.

We collect the minimum information possible

WP INTENSE may collect personal information for the following purposes:

To process payments
We may use the information Users provide about themselves when placing an order only to provide service to that order. We do not share this information with outside parties. If you are claiming VAT relief, we may need to request your address to comply with VATMOSS regulations.
To send order emails
We may use the email address provided when ordering to send User information, download access and updates pertaining to your order. It may also be used to respond to inquiries, questions, and/or other requests.
To send new article notices, deals and alerts via email
If a User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, and new articles. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.
For generic traffic analysis
If you opt-in to our Google Analytics cookie, we will track your path through our website with your IP address anonymised. We also record the same journey in our own analytics, described below, which sets no cookie and never stores your IP address.
For support chat
If you use the chat on our website, we keep the conversation so that we can answer you, and so that we still have the history if you come back to us later about the same thing. The chat itself is our own software, running on our own site. So that our support team is alerted and can reply quickly, conversations are also relayed to a private Discord server and a private WhatsApp account that only our team can see. Your conversation is never posted anywhere public, but Discord and WhatsApp are third-party services, so a copy is held on their systems under their own privacy policies. If you would rather not use them, email us at support@superspeedyplugins.com instead. If you leave an email address so that we can reply when we are not online, it is used only to reply to you.

We protect your information

We have strict data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

We never allow developers or contractors access to user data – they always develop bug fixes or code fixes in their own isolated environment without access to any user data.

Sensitive and private data exchange between the Site and its Users happens over a SSL secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.

We record IP addresses of visiting traffic solely for the purpose of anti-DDOS and security. These logs are deleted after 7 days.

We never share your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.

We do not store customer credit card details

We use PayPal to process payments (unless you choose the bank transfer method) and we never ever store your credit card details.

Performance review requests from the Performance Analysis plugin

Our free Performance Analysis plugin can send a performance report from your WordPress site to us, so that we can quote for fixing what it found. Nothing is sent unless you open the request, review the preview and tick the consent box yourself. The plugin sends it directly from your web server to ours.

What we receive

Your name and email address, and your site address if you give it.
The report itself: the Markdown text shown to you in the preview. It describes how one page of your site performed: timings, database queries, plugins and settings. Database queries are reduced to their shape with the values removed, and email addresses are removed, so it is not designed to carry your visitors’ or customers’ details. You can read every word of it before you send it.
Any message you add, whether you ticked “ongoing performance care”, and which screen of the plugin you sent it from.
A record of your consent: the wording version you agreed to, the time, and the IP address the request came from (normally your web server’s address).
The plugin version, and a random request number that stops a retry being stored twice.

What we do with it

We store the request on our own server and email it to our team so we can reply to you and prepare a quote. Our team is also alerted on a private Discord server; that alert holds only the request reference, never your name, email address or report. We do not add you to any mailing list unless you tick “Email me performance tips and offers”; if you do, you join our performance mailing list and can unsubscribe from any email.

What we never do

A performance review request is never joined to anything you shared with superspeedy.org, and superspeedy.org data is never used to find or target customers. superspeedy.org is operated by WP Intense OÜ, which also runs superspeedyplugins.com, and has its own privacy page at https://superspeedy.org/privacy-and-terms/.

How long we keep it

We keep it for as long as we need it to deal with your request, including if you come back to us later about the same site. There is no fixed period, and you can ask us to delete it.

To see what we hold or have it deleted, email support@superspeedyplugins.com. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) for receiving the request, and taking steps at your request before a contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) for preparing the quote.

To stop people misusing this, we limit how many requests one IP address or email address can send.

Licence validation and plugin updates

When you run one of our Super Speedy plugins, it periodically contacts our licence server (auth.superspeedyplugins.com) to validate your licence and to check for and deliver updates. Each request sends: your licence key, your site domain, the plugin and the version installed, and your site’s administrator email address.

We use this information to verify your entitlement, deliver plugin updates, prevent licence abuse, and contact you about your licence where needed. The administrator email collected for licensing is stored separately from customer contact details and is not added to any marketing list. This data is retained for licensing and support purposes.

Our own website analytics

As well as Google Analytics, we measure traffic to this website ourselves, on our own servers. We do this so we have a figure we can check Google’s against, and so we can see how people find us and where they get stuck. This data is never shared with, sold to, or sent to any third party. It never leaves our servers.

We set no cookie for this. Our own analytics does not create, read or rely on any cookie.

What we record

The address and title of the page you viewed.
The domain name of the site that linked you to us, if any. We record the domain only (for example duckduckgo.com), never the full address of the page you came from, and never anything at all when you arrive from within our own site.
How long the page was actually visible to you, so that a tab left open in the background is not counted as time spent reading.
If you shop with us: viewing a product, adding one to your basket, starting checkout, and completing an order.

How we recognise a visit

There are three levels, and which one applies to you depends on your cookie choices and whether you are logged in.

Everyone, including people who decline cookies. We do not store anything on your device and we do not read anything from it. Instead, our server calculates a one-way code from your IP address and browser identification, using a secret that we replace every day and then destroy. That code lets us tell one visit apart from another on the same day. Because yesterday’s secret no longer exists, yesterday’s codes cannot be matched to today’s, so this cannot follow you from one day to the next. Your IP address is used only to calculate that code and is never written to our analytics database.
If you allow the analytics category in our cookie banner. Your browser stores a random identifier (browser storage, not a cookie, under the name sspga_vid). This lets us recognise a returning visit across several days, which is the only way to tell a genuinely new visitor from someone coming back. If you later withdraw that consent, your browser deletes the identifier and we stop recording it.
If you are logged in to an account with us. We record your account ID against your activity, whatever your cookie choices are. We do this because it is part of the customer relationship: it is how we can see what a customer looked at before they bought, and answer support questions about their own account. Our legitimate interest in understanding and supporting our own customers is the basis for this, under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Administrator accounts are excluded entirely and are never recorded.

How long we keep it

Individual page views and visits are deleted after 90 days.
Activity linked to an account is kept while that account exists, because it is part of the record of our relationship with a customer. Ask us and we will delete it.
Daily totals (visits, pages viewed, most popular pages, referring domains) are kept indefinitely. These are counts only and contain nothing that identifies anyone.

Why we are allowed to do this

For the first level above, no consent is required, because nothing is stored on or read from your device, which is what triggers the consent requirement under PECR and the ePrivacy Directive. Processing your IP address to calculate the daily code is done under Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in measuring our own audience. The second level is stored on your device and is therefore opt-in, through the cookie banner.

To have your data removed, or to ask what we hold, email support@superspeedyplugins.com. You can withdraw the analytics consent at any time using the cookie banner.
