Getting started with Fullscreen Typeform
Fullscreen Typeform puts a Typeform on your own domain instead of sending people off to typeform.com, and lets you decide how much of your own branding stays around it. This guide takes you from a fresh install to a working full screen form.
What you need
A Typeform, and the ID or share link for it. Nothing else. The plugin is free, needs no licence key, and has no dependencies.
1. Install and activate
Install the plugin as you would any other, by uploading the zip or through Add Plugin, then activate it. A new entry appears at Super Speedy > Fullscreen Typeform.
2. Set your default form
Open Super Speedy > Fullscreen Typeform and put your form into the Default Typeform field. You can paste any of these and the plugin works out which is which:
- the form ID, for example
01J0V2CQC5CD3H8ZG0AWJ4NW40 - the short slug, for example
EDlIEX02 - the share URL, for example
https://form.typeform.com/to/EDlIEX02 - the whole embed snippet copied out of Typeform’s Share dialog
Typeform gives out two different identifiers per form and they are not interchangeable. If a form ever shows a Typeform advert instead of your survey, that is why. See Which Typeform ID do I need? for how to tell them apart.
If what you paste is not recognisable as a Typeform ID, the plugin tells you and refuses to save it, rather than storing an empty value and leaving you with a blank page.
3. Choose a layout
Still on the settings screen, pick a Default layout:
| Layout | What the visitor sees |
|---|---|
| Full screen, nothing else | The form fills the whole window |
| Full screen with your logo on top | A slim bar carrying your logo, form below |
| Site header and footer, form in between | Your real theme chrome, form full width |
| Normal page width, in the content | The form in the content column, like any other block |
Choosing between them is covered properly in Choosing a layout for your Typeform.
4. Create the page
Create a new page, then under Page Attributes choose the Fullscreen Typeform template. Publish it, and the form is live on your own URL.
You do not need to put anything in the page content. The form comes from the settings, not from the content.
The logo bar uses the logo you have already set in Appearance, Customise, so the “with your logo on top” layout usually works with no configuration at all.
5. Override it for one page, if you need to
Every page can differ from the site default. In the page editor there is a Fullscreen Typeform box with two fields:
- Typeform – a different form for this page only
- Layout – a different layout for this page only
Leave either blank to inherit the site default. This is how you run several different forms, each on its own URL, with one set of shared settings behind them.
Adding a form to a page you already have
The four layouts above are for pages given over entirely to a form. To drop a form into the middle of an existing page, use the block or the shortcode instead. See Adding a Typeform to an existing page.
Upgrading from version 1.x
Version 1.x had no settings at all and expected the page content to be a bare Typeform URL. Those pages keep working after the update, so nothing breaks on upgrade. You do not have to migrate them, though moving the URL into the page’s own Typeform field is tidier and lets you write intro copy in the content.
